Rediscover the Age-Old Sunnah with Miswak Teeth Cleaning Sticks

Grounded in the blessed prophetic tradition, these natural miswak sticks are derived from the Salvadora persica tree, referred to in the Arabian Peninsula as Arak, Siwak or Peelu. The usage of miswak originates from the 7th-century practice of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Companions, who used the fibrous roots of this tree as an effective natural toothbrush. When the Prophet (SAW) stated that miswak cleanses the mouth and pleases the Lord, it became an integral part of a believer's ablution routine.

Key Features

  1. Pure Botanical Care: Harvested from organically grown Salvadora trees, the sticks contain antimicrobial compounds to fight bacteria and abrasives to lift stains from the enamel.
  2. Reviving a Time-Tested Sunnah: By adopting these traditional miswak sticks instead of regular toothbrushes, users follow the dental hygiene Sunnah set by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
  3. Convenient Size: At around 6 inches long, a pack fits easily into pockets or bags for use during ablution, prayer times or on-the-go.
  4. Mouth-Refreshing: Chewing the tip releases beneficial oils and aromatics, leaving the breath fresh. Frayed bristles are then used on teeth.

This pack provides soft-bristled dental sticks handcrafted in Pakistan using time-honoured methods. Reorient your self-care rituals while earning blessings by reviving an often-overlooked Sunnah. Available at Modesty Collection.

Please Note: Box and Brand may differ from photos, yet quality will remain to the same high standard.

The Common Toothbrush vs The Miswak

How to Use Your Miswak:

  1. Use a sharp knife to make an incision about 2-3 centimetres away from the end, circling around the end.
  2. Using the knife, cut the edges off from the end (starting from the incision), like sharpening the miswak. Continue doing so until the original surface is gone.
  3. Now place your miswak facing down into a cup of warm-hot water, to soften the part that you will use as the brush.
  4. Take the soft part out and start chewing for about 30 seconds, turning the miswak around in your mouth.
  5. Pull at the edges of the tip, so that it appears the soft bristles are sprouting outwards.

You are now ready to brush! Whilst doing so, make sure to brush up and down and right between your teeth. (Note: When refreshing your miswak, follow the same steps, but cut off the soft brush part that you have used and begin 2-3 cm down.

Should have tried for a thick version of miswak

I have only fairly recently heard about this product. Have been using it and will persevere with it. Maybe there are different sizes which I was not aware of but I would prefer the stick to be a little thicker. After preparing it for use there didn't seem to be much in the centre of the stick to work with.
Delivery was fast and packaging also great but I think being a novice of the miswik stick I should have perhaps sought a thicker miswak stick.
This may seem like a complaint but I see the problem more as my not doing more research on the product before purchasing as I hear that there are sticks of different thicknesses. Having said that Im pleased to have discovered the miswak stick.
